Best Boxing Gloves on Amazon?

In Product Reviews by ShahanLeave a Comment

These days Amazon has taken over the way we shop, and with good reason. You can find more options, reviews, and those of us that use Amazon prime can enjoy free two day delivery. This makes it a lot harder to get motivated enough to drive to a store, only to end up looking at limited options and scrolling through our smartphone looking at potential items we are missing out on.

This is no different when you are looking to buy boxing gloves. Sometimes Amazon just has the best options. The problem however, is that they have a lot of options, some say too many, and it can get hard to decide what to get no matter how good you filter down. So I did the hard work for you and narrowed down the best offerings of boxing gloves on Amazon.

Here is a list of all the best gloves that are available to buy on Amazon and what makes them good.

RingSide Apex Boxing Gloves

These gloves are one of my favorite gloves available on Amazon. For the value you’re probably getting the best training glove on the market. Not only are they great looking but they provide the necessary protection you need for your hands, while also providing comfort. They hug your hand really well and don’t feel loose like some other gloves. They also feel REALLY good on the pads. Some users have mentioned that they run a little small, but I only experienced this in the first day prior to breaking them in. Once you use them a few times they loosen up enough to be comfortable, but tight enough to feel new and they are able to maintain that feeling for a long time. If it’s any consolation, McGregor has often been seeing training with them.

Here is a break down of  this glove by category.

Aesthetics

If there is one thing that stands out immediately bout this glove is the look of them. These glove definitely stand out from the other gloves out there and have a great design to them. They have many different colors to choose from so you can take your pick of the color you want to flash when you’re crushing it in training.

Quality, Comfort and Fit

The quality of the glove is great. You can tell its well crafted and there isn’t anything that stands out in terms of “defects.” They have a “Stay-Dri” lining that helps the glove avoid getting soggy and users say they “ventilate” well so they won’t stink up. They do fit a little tight when fresh out of the box, but as soon as you start banging away and using them they will feel really good around your hands. The good thing is, it maintains the tight feeling of a new glove for a long time.

Protection

Every time I have used these gloves I never felt any pain and it provides a nice grip on the inside that claims to avoid hand fatigue. Personally never had fatigued hands with any glove unless I was in an intense sparring but that factoid is there if needed. They also come with “IMF Tech” which means they inject molded foam for extra protection, and that I will say definitely works.

Durability

I’ve used these gloves for well over a year and they still look fairly new. Beyond that I wouldn't know how they hold up but no user reviews of complaints on Amazon for this glove.

Price/Value

These gloves come in at $49.99 on Amazon but are usually discounted in the low $40 range. This makes it one of the best gloves for the price and that is why it is listed first here.

Summary of Amazon Reviews.

In total this glove has a 4.2 out of 5 star rating gathered from 315 total customer reviews. With a huge 64% of those being a 5 star review. This tells me I am not the only who enjoyed this glove.

Venum Elite Boxing Gloves

The Venum Elite Boxing gloves on Amazon is a glove that I raved about quite a bit. I’ve used these gloves on a multiple occasions and really liked how they felt when I landed the punches on the heavy bag. While they are well cushioned, it still felt pretty good on impact and you definitely felt the power of your punch. Also, everyone, including me, falls in love with the look of these gloves. Some users complained about the lack of good ventilation and makes your hands sweaty. Personally haven't experienced this because I’m usually sweaty by the time I get the gloves on anyway.  Overall it has great reviews so let’s break down this glove by by each category.

Aesthetics

Definitely top 3 coolest looking glove of all time. When it comes to aesthetics its right up to par with the Ringside Apex gloves we mentioned above. They have a nice design and a ton of different color combination options to choose from.

Quality/Comfort/Fit

As far as quality these gloves probably are most solid in that department. Most users are wowed by the feel of the gloves as much as the look of them. As far as fit, most users say the padding is well distributed while others say it can run a bit small. For those users, I would say give them a chance to break in, most new gloves should feel a little tight around the arm. From my experience the glove provides great comfort and feels good on landing.

Protection

These gloves are definitely well padded and do have a classic boxing glove feel to them. For me there were no complaints of any pain and the wrist support is fine although some reviewers on Amazon have complained of there hand hurting and the wrist support not being there for people with “smaller wrists.”

Durability

Many of my training partners have used these gloves strenuously for over a year and they hold up just fine. No complaints on Amazon as far as durability either. These are well made, good quality gloves made of “Skintex Leather” which is a high end synthetic leather.

Price/Value

These gloves clock in at $79.99 with smaller sizes being a little cheaper and sometimes running discounts that can make them cost less. For a glove that is less than $100, I would definitely say it provides the value at that cost.

Summary of Amazon Reviews

Total reviews for this boxing glove are 342 and clock in at 4.5 out of 5 stars. That is a pretty good ration. Some users complained of some one of scenarios where it hurt their hand or it wasn't delivered in good condition. Both of which i think aren't regular situations because most users had nothing but good things to say.

RingSide IMF Tech Sparring Gloves (Lace Up)

Personally, one of my favorite pair of gloves that I own. The Ringside Sparring gloves are some of the best quality and value gloves that you can find on the market. They offer excellent protection for your hand while still allowing you to feel the power of your punch. Users online mention that they wrap around your hand nicely and I have found that to be true. They are also very durable and still look fairly new after a year’s use. Warning do not confuse them with the Ringside “Training” gloves as they are not as great a quality. Let’s break it down by category:

Aesthetics

This is a simple looking glove and yet quite pleasant. It comes in two colors, a black glove with white combination or a white glove with black combination. Both are simple, classic looking boxing gloves with the well known ringside logo across the wrist. It is a traditional boxing glove look and we aren’t complaining. For the most part if you are a minimalist in terms of equipment colors and design, this glove is great.

Quality/Comfort/Fit

I can speak to personal experience when I say the stitching and the feel of these gloves is great. Never had an issue with it. As far as comfort, this glove is as comfortable as they come and provides a nice feel around your hand when you land a punch. It doesn’t “bounce” off the bag, pad, or your opponent and yet provides a smooth landing for your hand, while still feeling the power. The only thing that some may find tedious is the glove is a “Lace-Up” glove and some people will need a partner to tie the glove. What I do is just tie the glove previous to putting it on, and then tuck the lace as I slide my hand in. This provides a nice tight feel without need a partner to lace every time.

Protection

I have notoriously bad shoulders, and this is one of the few gloves that takes the impact off my shoulder completely. I’ve never once felt any pain while using this gloves. Users on Amazon agree in their reviews as well. One reason they have great protection is they are built to be sparring gloves so they can handle bag work and pads quite easily. Much like the APEX they have IMF tech built in to it for extra protection.

Durability

From personal experience, these gloves hold up really well. No complaints from Amazon either and one of their boasts is “taking durability to the next level, so you are safe in this department.

Price/Value

Normally they run at about $80 but sometimes you find them good deals on Amazon. Either way, these gloves are absolutely going to be worth the price when you get them. They live up to their per day dollar average value. If there is a glove out there that’s worth what it costs, this is it.

Review Summary

Not a highly review item with only 15 reviews and 3.9 stars out of 5. I think this is due the fact that for a long time Amazon had a mix up between these and another pair of velcro Ringside gloves so they had to switch things around. However, in this case, you got my personal recommendation. You can’t go wrong with these gloves. Especially, if you’re looking for a glove that can be used for sparring as well as training. The only complaint I really saw on Amazon from user’s is “small hand compartment” which is odd given my experience with the glove. Might be a rare use case.

Everlast Pro Style Elite Training Gloves

This glove had to make the list because it is one of the most popular entry level boxing gloves on the market. This is the glove you get when you walk into the store and need something to train with short term. It’s also the glove that everyone who is a casual fan has at home. It also very affordable and this is why it deserves a mention here. It isn’t actually the “best” when it comes to overall quality and comes with it’s faults. But it has enough good about it that you should know of it. Where it falls short is the durability. This glove, on two separate occasions, has given out on me. One time with the strap being ripped to where its quite literally hanging on by a thread., and another with the outside beginning to peel. Granted this took some time to happen, it’s still disappointing when it does.

Let’s break it down by category.

Aesthetics

When it comes to Aesthetics, we can’t complain. These gloves look great, as do most gloves in the Everlast brand. They come in a variety of color combos including black/grey, blue/yellow, pink/grey, red and etc.

Quality/Comfort/Fit

This glove is a decent quality given its price range. You won’t get the same feel as the Venum or Ringside gloves above but it does feel good when you unwrap it. In terms of comfort the glove doesn't quite warp around your hand and you won't feel it “hugging” you. However, it will feel stable and secure. With these gloves you will have to mold your hand around them rather than vice versa. The upside is they do feel good when you land a punch on the bag or mitts. It gives a nice little “pop” that some gloves lack. Personally I have really liked the for training on the heavy bag.

Protection

Because I’ve mostly used these for power punching on the heavy bag, I can say they definitely provide the protection you need. I’ve never gotten hurt wearing these at 16oz. They also come with an extra wrist shield for “extra protection” according to the ad. I always thought it was just to better/safer block kicks and punches.

Durability

Here is where things get tricky. The two pairs of these gloves that I owned, both failed in the durability department once hitting the close to one year mark. The first time the outside started peeling, which was okay because that didn’t stop the usability, just messed with the aesthetics. The second pair held up nicely on the outside but the velcro strap started tearing and is now hanging on to life by its last thread.

Price/Value

Despite the durability issues, when I consider I got them for around $30, then I definitely got what I paid for and more. I used them daily so it provided the value I was looking for as an entry level glove. The price tag says $39.99 but you can usually get a deal on them between $27 to $35. As a first set of gloves this is perfect, if you are looking to upgrade, go with one of the above mentioned.

Review Summary

These gloves got a total of 3.7 out 5 stars based on 70 customer reviews. Some of the complaints revolve around it and hand injuries on the downside. On the upside most customers said it was “worth the money” which is the overall consensus on these gloves.

RDX Ego Boxing Gloves

I saved these gloves for last because they are really revered out and there and with good reason. The RDX gloves are the whole packaged when it comes to getting a good quality glove at a good price. This glove has good protection, great looks, and boast durability. The RDX gloves on Amazon are good for training, sparring, and anything else you decide to do with a pair of boxing gloves.

Let’s dive into the details:

Aesthetics

When it comes to looks, this glove seems to have torn. Some people absolutely love it, and some people, not so much. Personally, I really like the look of the RDX glove. It isn’t the most conventional look but it definitely has its own personality. We’ll let you be the judge of this since the overall opinion is 50/50.

Quality/Comfort/Fit

Like myself, most people are shocked when they put on this glove. This is good shock of course. Given the price point, the quality of this glove is pretty amazing. It hugs your hand nicely, doesn't feel too rough or too soft and provides great wrist support one tightened. Part of the marketing message is that they have Maya Hide leather which is a high end synthetic leather and some kind of tech that help with ventilation and keeps your hands cool. Overall you’ll like how these gloves feel when you put them on.

Protection

This glove offers great protection. IT is suitable for sparring and any glove that doesn’t hurt you in sparring will be great in training. Personally have never felt any discomfort using these gloves. In the words of RDX themselves, this glove has “Extra-think Supremo-Shock Foam” that wraps around the hand, and a shock dissipating gel lining in the middle of the padding. Also many users have mentioned the love the wrist support.

Durability

Most users rave that these gloves hold up well. Personally I haven't used them for over a year yet. The few “critical reviews” that they have on Amazon, are in regards to durability. Some mention the seam gets undone in a few weeks, but these maybe single uses cases as most users report the opposite.

Price/Value

Here is the real kicker, with these gloves, they clock in just under $50. For the quality glove you are getting this is an amazing price point. Most gloves of this quality are $80 and up. You are definitely getting bang for your buck with this glove.

Review/Summary

This glove has a 4.5 star rating out 341 reviews. That is as good as it gets for any product on Amazon. Some of the complaints were in regards to durability, and size. Some users have seen issues with the seams coming undone while others have said they run a little big on the inside. The good thing is if you write RDX, they can probably remedy any issues you may have. Most reviewers have stated the opposite of these so they maybe single use cases.
